Getting to Inoman requires flight. The two will need to charter an airship to bring them there and back from the island.
As for what plot related events can happen, the events will occur if they happen to pick up Sosyne's scales while visiting Inoman. While in Inoman, instead of the scale showing the characters' own memories, they will see memories from the town of Inoman. These memories will reflect the two emotions Sosyne represents: anger and calm.
For the 'calm' memories, they will see images of a peaceful town with the people going about their daily lives. The town appears to be a center for religious life. There are a number of people there wearing religious uniforms. The people will also have different colored amulets around their necks. Those with the amulets that are colored a periwinkle blue comment that their crystals have been buzzing and/or flashing recently, as if Sosyne is nearby. They are trying their best to stay calm. A few with these colored amulets decide to leave the town to find a calm place to meditate and 'connect' with Sosyne.
For the 'anger' memories, they will mostly see the town as it was during its last days. A group of soldiers dressed in red and black fight the townspeople and makes their way to the central temple. Sometimes they take the villager's amulets with them, other times they simply kill the villagers. A few of these memories have already been "seen" by previous expeditions to the town of Inoman. It's been known that Inoman suffered from a war.
Additionally, Eren, Armin, and any who are on their trip will receive a message from Sosyne even if they are not aligned. The message will be as follows:
"Anger. Is mine. Calm. Is mine. Surrender them to me."
