Said magazine is now holding a contest to find the story, or stories, that will take its place. All residents of Verens are welcome to submit the opening chapters of their next brilliant work for consideration; the public will vote for the stories they want to appear. Reward: All contestants will experience the joy of having actually written and submitted something instead of merely dreaming their lives away and also the intense anxiety that comes of waiting for a response, thus qualifying them as Real Writers. Winners will receive an advance of 250 sylvs and a contract, with 50 sylvs to be paid for every chapter that is completed thereafter. I'm thinking that in the interest of time and allowing everyone to join in, nobody should have to actually write out a chapter of a story in their characters' voices unless they want to. Just summarizing what the story would be about and maybe having a snippet should be fine, and after that it could all be handwaved as a full-time sidejob.
