I plan on having a permissions post, so that won't be an issue!
Generally, it depends on what happens during the link. Usually Spiria Links are performed to cure Despir, which is a disease that affects the Spiria, and by going in, you're able to pinpoint the cause of the Despir and eliminate it, curing them. People suffering from Despir are usually in a semi-catatonic state and so are unaware of what's going on until it's over, and so it's largely involuntary. But for those who are conscious or have an exceptionally strong spiria, they do have the power to expel, or even trap, anyone there.
When a Link is performed, the Somatic enters a "Spiria Nexus", which is a sort of labyrinth constructed by the person's Spiria. At the end of the Nexus lies either their Spiria Core or their inner-self. If damage was caused to the core then it could have terrible consequences for that person. Likewise, if the Spiria was healed, then it would improve that person's condition.
I should also note that people aren't the only ones capable of having spirias. It's been shown that creatures and even objects are capable of developing spirias if strong enough emotional significance is placed into them. Likewise, this also makes them vulnerable to Xerom attacks, which are the primary cause of advanced Despir cases. So for instance, if the situation called for it (and it was allowed, of course), he could possibly even maybe enter the giant crystal in the sky.
