That's not so much game-breaking as more of a bit complicated. They can still have the ability, but with a few caveats:
1) If it's an item related to another character, you'd need player permission first. It would also have to be very limited in time and scope in terms of what they see. 2) If it's an item related to the game setting, you'd need to contact us so we can give you details.
This second option is actually why I'm more than willing to allow an ability such as this to still be available, if nerfed or altered a bit. This can open up a lot of doors in terms of game plots and help distribute information so it's not always us mods being the "triggers." But that's only if a player such as yourself is interested, of course!
