— PLAYER PLOT LOG —

We've had a lot of player plots that have come through as well as other smaller events that leave potential impacts on the setting. To make it easier to keep track for everyone, we've created this log!

❖ Plot Proposal

We welcome and encourage all kinds of events and plots, especially if it can drive the game's emotional flow direction in any way. Thus if you have a particular event that you'd like to suggest, fill out the following form and we will discuss it with you either on here or in private depending on the nature of the plot.

❖ Points of Interest

Additionally, if your character has been through an event or has done something that could alter the setting in some way that should be noticeable by the population at large, fill out the following form! It could be something being destroyed, created, and it doesn't have to be something created by emotions. If something is built, like a new attraction or local location to visit, you can mention that, too! We will try to work it in, either by publicly announcing it or have tasks that may react to the change.

Hey, so, I'm going to be going with a hybrid of the stampede and building collapse, with the creatures stampeding being some kind of rhino-cow cross type thing, with armored plating and horns. Not domesticated, but mild-tempered enough that they're not usually considered a threat by the locals when the herds are migrating through the area. Unless, you know, someone spooks or upsets them with bursts of high emotions. I'm imaginatively naming them Rhicows.

Mentioning this in case there's any issue with me making up new fauna, or if you want to use them as a suggestion for task board stuff, since I know you guys always appreciate task board ideas. (If you want me to put this down in the task board proposal section, I can do that. Just want to get you're okay on this first.)

PLOT PROPOSAL

[personal profile] deathboss 2018-01-22 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Pixle
Character(s): Anyone who signs up.
Plot idea: It's blind dates just in time like last year! Probably a little more melancholic than last year, but with Eikichi's usual brand of uh...Eikichiness. A signup and the dates will go up on the 14th at night and involve a lot of little cut-out hearts.

Don't worry, Eikichi totally won't mess this up like last year!
(Narrator: He will.)

Nothing will go wrong!
(Narrator: It will.)

I feel attacked. I should be good for now! I will wait until the applications are finished before posting it so the new players are aware of the post.

PLOT PROPOSAL

Player: Ryoko
Character(s): Kylo Ren and literally whoever wants to play around with it!
Plot idea: Hey guys remember that PM I sent

I got deets now

To put it simply, Kylo would use mind tricks and other such manipulation to get Briarlan engineers to make him a thing. That thing would eliminate emotional effects by stabilizing emotion energy/cutting people off from emotion energy. He doesn't care about the specifics he just wants it to work. (I would submit a couple of tasks for March to sort of ~foreshadow.)

Except when he tries to use it on Verens in late March/early April, it goes wrong! WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED. This would result in a mixture of fun shenanigans including optional eliminated and overloaded emotional effects, network telepathy disruptions, power outages and surges for things powered by amulets, and ability/dunamis malfunctions. A fun time for all.

(Kylo would then be cut off from emotional energy for about a month, meaning he can't use his powers since they depend on world magic energy. Good job, nerd.)

More details are in the doc! Let me know if the timing is cool and the rest looks alright.

Hello again mods, would it be possible to send a notification via plurk to say that the signups close tonight? Thank you so much!

Plot Proposal

[personal profile] oligomania 2018-05-02 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Xae
Character(s): Velvet Crowe, Rokurou Rangetsu & open to the rest of the game
Plot idea: They are going to be opening up an arena outside of town and as their grand opening, they want to hold a tournament. People will sign up to participate (solo or groups of four) - they will battle monsters in the preliminary rounds and the individuals who win move up to fight their next opponents. Eventually, their battles will end with Otherworlder against Otherworlder until only one stands at the top. Winners will receive a prize and be considered Champions until the next tournament.

It would take place over a few days to allow contestants to rest before the final few rounds and allow for spectators to sit in the stands and cheer or boo. There will, of course, be rules to follow (ex. no killing, all attacks must remain in the ring, no show = forfeit) and even a few exhibition events - which we could open up to other people in the entertainment business. Ideally, this is a way to generate both negative and positive emotions in a relatively safe manner.

I'd like this to be something that could happen sometime in June but July would work too.

PLOT PROPOSAL

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2018-06-15 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Player: Ang H.
Character(s): Lemony Snicket, any and all interested parties
Temporary or Permanent? Temporary - 1-2 days, preferably not until July or August, whatever fits best with your calendar!
Description: A Job Fair! Lemony would coordinate with the Welcome Center and reach out to various businesses or specialists in Verens to set up tables, manned by characters who can extoll the virtues of their specific profession! IC business owners can use it as a way to remind players their businesses exist and get new CR, and other characters can use it for ideas to give themselves more things to do around the island. Want to be a Junior Detective? Talk to Neptune! Maybe you want to bake pies with Snow White, or sign up for the Restoration Committee?

It'd be set up like your standard job fair, either in the Welcome Center itself or a nearby area of the marketplace... perhaps it could be tied in to Aiada for curiosity, or Thras for ambition, too? Jobs do certainly stir a lot of emotions in people ...

PLOT PROPOSAL

Player: Mich
Character(s): Sora, Vanitas, Kor Meteor, Merisia Thenel, Zero
Plot idea: Vanitas accidentally triggers Sora's antiform drive form but it seems to make everyone who has a drive form with Sora to go antiform as well! Therefore four different antiform characters will be running around the city for 24 hours. We have a full plotting doc here for all the details. We would like this to go up at the start of July and only last a day IC-ly.

Plot Proposal

Player: Althea and Xae
Character(s): Machina Kunagiri, Velvet Crowe, Possibly some of Velvet's Cronies, 1 Arehtei (mod's choice?), and the island full of do gooding heroes
Plot idea:
Machina and Velvet both have some pretty strong reasons for wanting to lash out at the local gods and/or try to force them to keep people here. Yeah, we the muns know drops happen but the characters are both taking it pretty badly. Over in this log, they sort of broached the idea of trying to kill an Arehtei to force the situation so that people who are dead at home can stay forever.

What we'd like to do is have the pair of troublemakers actually make an attempt on one of the Arehtei. (Assuming it'll fail. And they will be in deep doo afterwards.) Banking on the bevy of heroes present on the island stopping them before they pull off a god's murder.

As for timing, no sooner than August since we know Helisium is coming up in July. And they'll need time to plot their evil plans. But if there's a time that works better for upcoming events, that's cool too.

PLOT PROPOSAL

[personal profile] shroudedsecrets 2018-07-05 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Sapphire
Character(s): Haggar (Honerva)
Plot idea:

Hello! This is less of a "plot log" and more of "my character is poking about doing this or that in search of info" sort of variety that potentially could affect others, but I wasn't certain where it would be best to submit that, so here you go.

For some time now, Honerva has been gathering information about the planet/state of the planet, whether from her own studies, inquiries from various local researchers and arehtei, and her husband's connections among otherworlders. Since she's a gal who thrives on a need for obtaining further knowledge, and knows how to play the long term game on this, she has a couple of goals she's pursuing.

I would say beginning in ... August and over time, though she's probably done some prelimilary tests already, she intends to make use of her abilities (psychic/quintessence/emotion energy) to obtain knowledge by sensing/reading the world itself. For example, if there's anything she can pick up that relates to whatever outside source that brings people there from other worlds (specifically in/around the temple site), as well as a few other locations. Basically assessing if there's anything she would be able to learn further through her rituals.

Along with that, since her attention has been pointed toward the existence of "Simpathis", particularly in learning the relevance the currently "dead" arethei has on the world itself, she's also pursuing methods to sense for her / scry for her memories or potentially align to her or even revive her, in seeing if that could bring more knowledge or a deeper connection to the world or energy.

Ultimately the questions I have would be if there would be anything new she'd be able to pick up on, along with what ramifications there could be from the attempts. I assume of course, that for the most part, it won't work (unless something useful gamewise can come up, otherwise this is more for my background flavor), but there would be various attempts involved as time goes on, potentially with her trying to augment those attempts with whatever boosts that magitech or crystals may provide since it's likely to be a longer-term project depending on how initial experiments go.

Or if there are any neat warnings, whiplash or whatnot that can come from this, or learning something completely unrelated over time, that would be fun too.

(Because. This is helping, right?)

Plot Proposal

[personal profile] crisisarrow 2018-11-24 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Terri
Character(s): Trey
Plot idea:

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but it may have an impact. Trey has a few theories about this world:

1: That the "original" inhabitants had actually been brought here by someone.

2: That the world is suffering from an "open wound" that no matter how much emotion is poured into it, will never heal.

3: That the answer actually lies in the history of the appearances of those brought here because he obviously doesn't think this is a new thing.

4: That all of it is connected to the war between humans and Arehtei.

And 5: The death of Thras is a prelude to a repetition to that war.

THAT being said, he would be going around asking the locals if anything that's been happening feels familiar--a sense of deja vu. (This is something he felt in canon because his world kept repeating itself.) He's also been doing research in the Library to find things out.

So, I was wondering what kind of answers he would get and if he'd find anything in the Library that would enlighten him or help with the current situation/future events.
