[ ARCHIVED ] [ emotion tracker ]
Throughout the gameplay, characters will experience situations that may be more emotional for them than normal. This can be positive (happiness) or negative (anger/sadness). These emotions have greater weight and impact on the island and will affect whether it grows in a positive way or actually suffers. These particular experiences are also what mods will use to "count" and decide which type of event should happen.
Players are encouraged periodically, particularly at the end of the month, to comment to this entry with threads where particular emotional tags, threads, or entries occur. Technically all emotions count, but do not want you to feel that you have to comment every time your character smiles at a puppy or every expression. Instead, here are some questions you should think about:
If you can answer, "Yes" to one or more of these, then drop that thread onto the tracker! It doesn't matter if it was a brief outburst or one that lasted hours—it can count.
With the addition of the Arehtei, alignments are also at play. In addition to affecting the island in more specifically (and possibly drastic) manners, if there are enough of a particular range of emotions, it may cause one of the Arehtei to appear. Whether it's that particular Arehtei or not is debatable. Here is the quick list of the Arehtei and the emotions they represent:
When filling out the form below, you need to indicate whether the thread is positive (+) or negative (-) and include which Arehtei the emotion falls under. If it was a combination of both positive and negative, then you put both (+-). In addition, you need to indicate if your character is aligned with that Arehtei. Those who exhibit emotions within that alignment will have greater impact than those who do not.
Apathy: For those who exhibit apathy, instead of a + or -, use the percent symbol (%). For the "Arehtei" field, put the one that represents the feelings the character was feeling apathetic toward. For example, if the surroundings were filled with happiness, you would put "Daimonia." Alignment field stays the same.
If you need help figuring out what emotion falls where, refer to our Emotion Reference Chart. It's a work in progress, and if you have any ideas or suggestions for certain emotions, feel free to let us know! Also, don't feel as if you're limited to pigeon holing an emotion to one specific Arehtei. Emotions can cross over to multiple Arehtei, so it's fine to list multiple. Finally, if it's been six months and you have commented to the tracker (both the general and event designated trackers) at least three times, then your character's crystal is eligible to be considered completed. Once complete, they can get a new one.
Note about symbol notation for emotions:
There is now a cap of 10 points positive OR negative per Arehtei per thread. That means that for any single thread, an Arehtei should be receiving no more than 20 points (10 positive, 10 negative). Realistically they should be much less than that. To help understand, we would like everyone to consider it like a rating system:
Everything else will likely fall in-between. We would recommend the highs to average more in the 5's or 6's.
Below are some samples of how the form may look like.

Technically all emotions count, but do not want you to feel that you have to comment every time your character smiles at a puppy or every expression. Instead, here are some questions you should think about:
- Is this a rare emotion for your character?
- Were there any emotional effects caused by the incident?
- Was it a stronger than usual emotion? For example, your character may be happy overall, but moments where they're filling up the room with sunshine and rainbows would have a greater impact than a casual smile.
- Did the character attempt to use or focus the emotion?
- Was the emotion clearly and strongly reflective of the character?
- Did the character or someone else become aware of their emotions, possibly due to the effects?
If you can answer, "Yes" to one or more of these, then drop that thread onto the tracker! It doesn't matter if it was a brief outburst or one that lasted hours—it can count.

- Aiada: envy and appreciation
- Daimonia: grief and joy
- Elios: hate and love
- Peromei: despair and hope
- Piphron: distrust and trust
- Sosyne: anger and calm
- Thras: fear and bravery

Note about symbol notation for emotions:
- Combinations. If your character is feeling a varying range of emotions throughout the thread, you can mark them all. So for example, the character is calm, then excited, then relieved, then irritated. Just count it all!
- Intensity. Emotions can count more than once if it was a particularly strong emotion. For example, your character became so angry that it overwhelmed them. The effect of the emotion may have also become more exaggerating, such as it becoming a blistering storm instead of just threatening thunder. In such a case, you can indicate this by placing a multiplier number ("-x3; +x2").
There is now a cap of 10 points positive OR negative per Arehtei per thread. That means that for any single thread, an Arehtei should be receiving no more than 20 points (10 positive, 10 negative). Realistically they should be much less than that. To help understand, we would like everyone to consider it like a rating system:
- 1 point would be for a small but significant moment. Like a heart flutter or a bit of embarrassment.
- 10 points should only occur if something extremely dire or substantial happens. If it's 10 points, then walls should be breaking, the ground shaking, things exploding everywhere—basically, the really big "oh shit" moments or, for the positive side, "I'M SO HAPPY I COULD DIE" moments.
Everything else will likely fall in-between. We would recommend the highs to average more in the 5's or 6's.

Arehtei: Thras/Sosyne/Elios
Aligned? N/N/Y
Blurb: Lu Meng's worried for Kai, and that's fuelled by his fear that she's been infected by PAS. Eventually though he calms down after he's checked her syndromes and finds that she's only at Stage 2. And of course, Kai is someone he cares about incredibly.
Date: 6/9 | %/%
Arehtei: Sosyne/Elios
Aligned? N/Y
Blurb: If this was a situation where he could still feel emotions, he'd be pretty irritated at himself for getting sick at a crucial time like this. And he hates hates hates haaattteeess being idle...but since he can't hate he just feels apathy. Which he also hates. PAS sucks.
Date: 6/13 | -/+/+/+
Arehtei: Daimonia/Piphron/Aida/Elios
Aligned? N/N/N/Y
Blurb: Sanae's efforts have not gone unnoticed, and Lu Meng's saddened to see her tearing up because of her fears that it's not enough and that's something he can relate to. He reaffirms his faith and appreciation of all she's done, and he's come to care deeply about Sanae's well-being.

Blurb: We're still threading to get there, but Lu Meng will eventually confront Mukuro over her sister. He's going to get angry at her, and will be more distrustful of her from now on.
ICly, the below emotions should be logged under May's tracker although the log happened in June:
Date: 5/25 | +
Arehtei: Sosyne
Aligned? N
Blurb: Saber flusters him; not exactly in a bad way, because he can kinda tell that she was making a light, teasing jab at him. But in a sense, he's glad to know that she can relax a little.
Date: 5/28 | -/-/+
Arehtei: Sosyne/Daimonia/Elios
Aligned? N/N/Y
Blurb: Coming from a culture that practices a healthy fear and respect of the dead, Lu Meng gets a bit of a nasty shock when he finds out that Emizel is supposed to be the next lord of the Underworld. We haven't threaded it out yet, but Lu Meng will feel regretful and apologize to Emizel, and decides that Emizel is another one he needs to look out for.
Date: 5/29 | +/+/-/-/-/+
Arehtei: Elios/Elios/Daimonia/Sosyne/Elios/Daimonia
Aligned? Y/Y/N/N/Y/N
Blurb: Lu Meng takes Bucky out for drinks. He reminisces about his country, which always invokes his passion and love for his country. Then he talks about his family, which brings up both fond and sad memories of the past. Then Bucky talks about what Hydra did to him and that fills Lu Meng with anger and hatred because what they did to Bucky is totally not cool. And the thread ends with Lu Meng getting to know Bucky better and finding him to be a somewhat kindred soldier soul.
