— CANON UPDATE —

If you'd like to update your character to a different canon point, fill out the form below and comment to this entry. Please note that characters can only be updated to source material that has been out for at least one month. We will try and process canon updates within 48 hours.

ICly, When your character is on a canon update, they completely disappear from the world. It's almost as if they were removed the game, however there's a key difference. Their amulet will remain and be in a translucent state. Characters will be gone from the game from three days to a week. They will reappear wherever their amulet is and can continue their progress from wherever they left off. They will also retain all of their memories.

If you have any questions, contact one of the mods or ask them on the form.

Player: Zumi
Character: Scrooge McDuck
Current Canon Point: After the finale of DuckTales
Updated Canon Point: After DuckTales Remastered

Updated Background: Here! Basically, Scrooge went on a worldwide (and then some) trek to hunt down some incredibly rare treasures, with a few hangers-on along the way. After trekking through the Amazon, the Himalayas, and even spelunking on the moon, Scrooge located the treasures, only to have them stolen by one of his arch-nemesis, Magica de Spell. She also kidnapped his nephews, wanting his Number One Dime (key to an intense spell of hers) in return. This forced Scrooge to work together with another arch-nemesis, Flintheart Glomgold, who had interest in the rare treasures; if they went in together, he could get the riches and Scrooge could get his nephews back.

...If only Magica and Glomgold weren't working together in secret. This was revealed after Scrooge battled his way through Magica's fortress, where Glomgold absconded with the Dime and Magica used the treasures to summon the demonic Dracula Duck (look, you can't make this stuff up). Scrooge had a showdown with the powerful vampire but won out in the end, rescued his nephews, reclaimed his Dime from an arguing Glomgold and Magica, and destroyed her volcanic fortress in the process. All in an adventure capitalist's day's work.

Updated Personality: Scrooge is as Scrooge was, so nothing new here.

Updated Abilities: Pogo cane!

Other: It's not actually clear where DuckTales Remastered is in the canon, but given the appearances of late-series characters, for all intents and purposes for this game I'm sticking it after the finale.

I'm not quite sure if this would work as support, but there's several DuckTales-specific characters that appear in both the show and the game, like Gizmoduck (DuckTales, DT Remastered), and the aliens in the Moon level have the appearance (if not the color) of an alien from one of the early episodes. Additionally, the pogo cane makes an appearance in one of the DuckTales comics, for Scrooge's other main media.

The original game was simple NES tie-in fare that came around near the end of the series' life, so it never had a mention in the series itself. By the time DuckTales Remastered came along the series had been long over, so no direct mentions either, other than being set in the same universe. It's the distance between the two that has me setting it after Scrooge's current canon point in the first place.

Hope this helps!
