ICly, When your character is on a canon update, they completely disappear from the world. It's almost as if they were removed the game, however there's a key difference. Their amulet will remain and be in a translucent state. Characters will be gone from the game from three days to a week. They will reappear wherever their amulet is and can continue their progress from wherever they left off. They will also retain all of their memories.
If you have any questions, contact one of the mods or ask them on the form.

Character: Charles-Henri Sanson
Current Canon Point: Post-London Singularity
Updated Canon Point: Post-Camelot Singularity
Updated Background: After facing Solomon in London, Chaldea and all its Servants must correct another singularity that has formed in North America. Queen Medb, (in)famous in Irish folklore, has made a wish upon the Holy Grail that turned the great hero Cu Chulainn into a twisted, altered berserker who only seeks to rule and to kill all who oppose him.
America, which is only beginning to emerge from a group of colonies in the late 1700's, has been plunged into war wherein figures from Irish mythology battle with the "Presi-King", Thomas Edison, and his mass-produced mechanical army and the Servants surrounding him. Considering the historical significance the United States of America has on the history of mankind, Chaldea works to end the war by joining forces with other Servants scattered throughout the country and eventually drawing Edison and his side to their cause.
Though they find victory, it's bittersweet as it ends in Mash Kyrielight fainting once they return to Chaldea. More of Mash's background is revealed; she is more than just a staff member, but is a designer baby created through artificial insemination as part of Chaldea's experiments to fuse Servants with humans.
The sixth singularity is a bit weirder than the rest. Though the backdrop is Jerusalem at the end of the Crusades, Jerusalem itself has disappeared and this chunk of history is about to break off from the rest. Not only that, both Camelot and Ancient Egypt have materialized within the desert, and the knights of Camelot, led by the Lion King, seek to create a utopia at the edge of the world by selecting only the people they deem fit and eradicating the rest. It's another group effort as the team from Chaldea contact the assassins of old, the Old Men of the Mountain, and other Servants to help them wage war against Camelot. In particular, they journey with Bedivere, a Knight of the Round Table willing to fight against his comrades and his own king to help correct the singularity.
Not only do they discover deep secrets about Chaldea and a past Holy Grail War, the Servant within Mash awakens at last and the Servant's True Name is revealed. They defeat the Lion King, but at a great cost - Bedivere, who had withheld Excalibur all this time instead of casting it into the lake like he should have and who finally returned it to his king, finally dies, exhausted by his long journey to atone for his act of disobedience during King Arthur's final days, and which actually resulted in King Arthur, a.k.a. Arturia Pendragon, wielding the sacred lance Rhongomyniad and ascending to the status of a Divine Spirit.
In short, this was all Bedivere's fault but he wanted to fix it and he even got this nice shiny arm from Merlin to aid him in his cause.
Sanson does not figure in these plots but as part of Chaldea, it is presumed that he is in the know and accompanies Mash, the protagonist and Da Vinci.
Don't ask me to explain Fate/ plots again.
Updated Personality: There will be no notable updates in his personality since he did not have much of a role except to be brought along for the battles.
Updated Abilities: No updated abilities.
Other: Although they are more like side stories
and reasons to grind, Sanson will also remember the "events" that transpired before and after America, and before Camelot, which include, off the top of my head, the Fate/Zero event (in which they Rayshift to the time and setting of the Fate/Zero series to correct the course of events), Rashomon (to beat up the evil oni Ibaraki-Douji and figure out the mystery behind a particularly intoxicating alcohol), Journey to the West (what it says on the tin except with Servants playing the major roles in the legend), and Onigashima (more of feudal Japan with the oni and stuff). This is really more of keeping Sanson's knowledge up to date, as he doesn't have a major role in anything for a while.
Questions: Please let me know if I still......need to explain all of this
