[ canon update ]
If you'd like to update your character to a different canon point, fill out the form below and comment to this entry. Please note that characters can only be updated to source material that has been out for at least one month. We will try and process canon updates within 48 hours.
ICly, When your character is on a canon update, they completely disappear from the world. It's almost as if they were removed the game, however there's a key difference. Their amulet will remain and be in a translucent state. Characters will be gone from the game from three days to a week. They will reappear wherever their amulet is and can continue their progress from wherever they left off. They will also retain all of their memories.

Character: (kid) Trunks
Current Canon Point: Dragon Ball Z: after the whole Gotenks and Piccolo get absorbed by Buu tomfoolery
Updated Canon Point: Dragon Ball GT: near the end of the series, helping his father fight against Omega Shenron

The big thing to mention is that he's gone from 8 to 25.
Trunks is more or less out of commission for the remainder of the fight against Kid Buu as that falls on Goku and Vegeta's shoulders with a little help from Mr. Satan, a puppy, and Dende. After the defeat of Kid Buu and peace being restored to the Earth, the Z fighters and friends party down at Capsule Corp together in celebration and this is more or less the last time we see them until a time skip happens and it's been about 10 years since the defeat of Majin Buu, making Trunks 18 years old. The World Tournament is starting up soon and Trunks, deciding to visit Goten since they're best buds and all, gets roped into participating in the event thanks to his dad more or less MAKING HIM since Vegeta and Goku both think their sons have become soft during the years of peace that have followed the last big threat to Earth. Trunks is meh about this but goes along with it and gets to witness the defeat of best buddy Goten against 4 year old Pan, Goten's niece. Talk about embarrassing, buddy.
Goku decides to train Uub and wanders off into the sunset with him, which marks the end of Z and leads us into GT where 5* years have passed since the end of Z. *please note that the english dub says 10 years but the GT FILES say 5 years so i mean... i'll just go with that.
Trunks is now 23 and the young president of Capsule Corporation which, for the most part he does his best to take seriously, but he has a penchant for sneaking out the office window when he gets bored or just seriously does not want to deal with being at the office. Haven't we all been there?
Basically, Goku gets wished back down to being a kid by accident and with the black star dragonballs shooting themselves across the very universe and the threat of the world blowing up if they're not gathered in a year's time, GT starts off with this grand tour get it? GT?? of locating these seven dragonballs where Trunks is chosen by Vegeta to go off along with Goku and Goten for the year. Except that Pan sneakily ends up taking Goten's place, much to everyone's shock and surprise and thanks to Goten needing to take an oh-so-important phone call which led to Pan taking his place. Nice one, Goten.
Throughout the grand tour in space, Trunks spends about a year trying to find the dragonballs with Pan and Goku and, despite Goku technically being the oldest, Trunks is seen as the leader and adult among the three of them, also being the only one who can repair and pilot the ship that's been made for them by his mother, Bulma. Over the course of that year, they go from planet to planet and get themselves into quite a bit of trouble here and there and even manage to make a robot friend, Giru, after he eats the dragonball radar that Trunks accidentally drops. There are moments where Trunks comes to dress up as a bride, ends up on the run for being a "wanted criminal", has to fight giant dolls, and even ends up Han Solo'd in the sense of being turned into metal all in the process of trying to gather the black star dragonballs with the help of Giru since he now acts as a dragonball radar.
One of the bigger things that ends up happening is the encounter with Baby who does not like Saiyans and wants to eradicate them sounds like freeza, right? and when Trunks ends up discovering this "evil power" that wants to rule the universe, he tries to shut it down with some help from Giru but Baby ends up living and busting out and eventually comes to posses Trunks, fighting Goku while Pan screams at grandpa to not hurt Trunks. When it looks like things are about to go south for Goku with his holding back from hurting Trunks, Trunks is able to fight back and claim his body for himself but, sadly, Baby escapes and they're unable to locate him so, back to hunting the dragonballs they go since they're on a time limit and all.
When they gather the seven black star dragonballs and head back to Earth, it's been close to a year now and Trunks is 24... and Baby has made his way to Earth and has basically possessed everyone on the planet, including Trunks' father, Vegeta. Sadly, Baby had "laid an egg" inside Trunks when he had possessed him out in space and so Trunks ends up getting possessed/brainwashed and fights alongside the possessed Vegeta against Goku and Pan, but mostly Goku. At some point, Trunks is able to shake off the effects of his being possessed and comes to Goku and Pan's aid when things look grim and, thanks to Goku, Baby Vegeta is defeated and everything is back to normal and what have you if you count having to evacuate everyone to another planet since Earth is still gonna blow.
About a year after Baby's defeat, Trunks is now 25 and in comes the arrival of Super Android 17. But, first he appears as "regular android 17" and Trunks gets into a bit of a scuffle with him, 17 telling Trunks to give Goku a message to come to Hell to fight OR ELSE. You know, bad guys and all. Trunks takes part in this fight against all of DBZ's previous villains escaping Hell and causing havoc on the planet and even goes against Super Android 17 alongside his father, Gohan, Goten, and Uub. Goku, like always, defeats Super Android 17 and they decide to use the dragonballs to make things better since the planet is sort of collapsing and all thanks to the damage Super 17 caused. Instead of Shenlong appearing, seven Shadow Dragons are created due to the overuse of the dragonballs and Goku goes off to defeat these dragons since they mean trouble and are the evil or negative side of the dragonballs. Six of the seven Shadow Dragons are defeated but the last one, Syn Shenron, absorbs the other six dragonballs and becomes Omega Shenron, overwhelming Goku until Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta arrives to help. FUSHION IS THE WAY TO GO and Trunks stalls Omega Shenron from breaking Goku and Vegeta up so that they can fuse but, Goku and Vegeta being the two that they are, run out of time in fushion and people believe Goku to be dead in another round against Omega Shenron, leaving everyone feeling like the end is nigh.
Getting everyone off the planet is what Vegeta, now the one to "take care of everyone", sets into motion and asks Trunks to do so and take care of his mother and sister and for Gohan and Goten to remember their father as he goes off to face Omega Shenron alone. With the other Z fighters flying off, Trunks eventually comes to pull back and, saying goodbye to his mother, leaves to go fight with his father. Gohan and Goten eventually leave to join Trunks, all of them accepting that this will more than likely cost them their lives.
And this, where Trunks, Vegeta, Gohan, and Goten are trying to defeat Omega Shenron but getting beat up in the process, is where Trunks will be taken from. Phew, that was a lot for a recap.
Updated Personality:
Like mentioned above, he's no longer a kid anymore and is now a young adult and so he has just a little bit more chill and isn't bratty like he was back as a kid. As the young president of Capsule Corporation now (thanks, mom) Trunks knows how to handle situations that are a lot more sensitive and serious and has even had to play the adult while out on the space adventure with kid Goku and Pan for a year despite Goku technically being the oldest. Having to reel the other two in, be the one to lead them in situations, and even have to make the big or responsible decisions, Trunks knows how to be the adult in and out of the office. That being said, Trunks still holds a strong conviction for protecting others, including the universe, and won't hesitate to do what's necessary to see to it that those who wish to harm others are put in their place. He has an absolute love for tech and often gets excited about it and is rather handy with it all, quickly picking up on how to operate tech from other planets/galaxies when exposed to it which is a nod to his being a little brainy as his mother and that he knows his stuff when it comes to technology. But, even though he has more chill and is not a total brat anymore, he's still a dork and can get flustered or embarrassed easily, especially when it comes to teasing/picking on him but don't think he's not capable of doing some teasing of his own. When it comes to more important or dire matters, though, especially in battle, that bratty side of him is more or less gone and he now takes it more seriously and isn't one to play around as he typically had been as a kid. Unless it has to do with board meetings at Capsule Corporation because then he's liable to just sneak out the window and fly off because talk about boring.
Updated Abilities:
Literally the same as before just stronger now but I mean... also not ridiculous strong because, sadly, he got kinda lazy over the years. he even admits this a few times.
Other:
Ok, so. If you're not too familiar with the world of DBZ/DBGT/DBS, DBSuper and DBGT are sort of treated like alternate timelines like how future Trunks comes from an alternate one. GT references plenty of things that happened back in Z but nothing in Super (which is mostly Beerus and Whis plus Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue) because, well, Super wasn't around back in '96-'97 and honestly, trying to line up Super with the end of Z which leads into GT doesn't even seem possible anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, kid Trunks would be disappearing the tail end of August/beginning of September and return from canon update within 5-6 days if that's ok.
Questions:
I need to switch journals for this if that's ok? I think I just need to comment to the change form on the taken list and rejoin the appropriate communities once he leaves for canon update.
Also wondering if it's ok/possible for him to arrive with a tin of capsules in his pocket? It would carry things like his office suit (lol), his jacket, some snacks, possibly his "hover car" but that's fine to not work within Emp.

You are correct on the journal switch aspect, and his hover car would not be able to come with him, but all of the other items would be fine!
