[ canon update ]

— CANON UPDATE —

If you'd like to update your character to a different canon point, fill out the form below and comment to this entry. Please note that characters can only be updated to source material that has been out for at least one month. We will try and process canon updates within 48 hours.

ICly, When your character is on a canon update, they completely disappear from the world. It's almost as if they were removed the game, however there's a key difference. Their amulet will remain and be in a translucent state. Characters will be gone from the game from three days to a week. They will reappear wherever their amulet is and can continue their progress from wherever they left off. They will also retain all of their memories.

If you have any questions, contact one of the mods or ask them on the form.

[personal profile] spellswords 2018-12-12 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Yukina
Character: Alisaie Leveilleur
Current Canon Point: Post 4.0
Updated Canon Point: Post 4.4

Updated Background: After suffering injuries at the end of 4.0 Alisaie is forced into recovery until the events of 4.2. Alphinaud and the Warrior of Light are summoned to Kugane by Yugiri. Alisaie tags along, much to her brother's dismay, and the three learn from Yugiri that Yotsuyu and Gosetsu have been spotted alive. The Empire is in hot pursuit of Yotsuyu which is cause for concern. Upon finding them they learn she has lost her memory and Gosetsu has been taking care of her. While none are to pleased by this Hien agrees that she should remain and be treated as a proper Doma citizen. An ambassador from the Empire, Asahi, arrives shortly after and claims he comes to negotiate peace between the Empire and Doma. He happens to be Yotsuyu's brother as well. He strikes a bargain with Hien: they will release their Doman prisoners in exchange for their Garlean ones. He demands that this include Yotsuyu. Hien agrees only if Yotsuyu regains her memories. Otherwise she is to remain.

After showing the Warrior of Light his malicious intentions, Asahi proceeds to manipulate events to force Yotsuyu's memories to return. At the time of the prisoner exchange she appears, full of her usual spite, and transforms into the primal Tsukuyomi. Asahi boasts that the exchange is a failure and that a Doman has summoned a primal, declaring attempts at a peace treaty lost. After being defeated she kills Asahi and then dies herself. One of Asahi's companions, Maxima, steps forward and it is revealed that Asahi was sent on orders from Zenos. Alphinaud suspects a Ascian at play here and volunteers to accompany Maxima, now revealed to be a true member of a peace seeking political faction within the Empire, to the Garlean homeland. Alisaie is quite distressed by this decision but knowing he will not change his mind she tells him to be careful and watches him depart.

The Doman prisoners are released regardless and give their thanks. Alisaie and the Warrior of Light thus return from Doma and reunite with Lyse and Thancred. They explain what has happened and the group goes to check on Zenos's grave. Sure enough his body is not present and an Ascian taking his form back in Garlemald is all but certain now. Thancred decides to explore the boarder for more information on this and Y'shtola leaves to travel to Doma to learn more of the primal Yotsuyu summoned. Alisaie, completely wrecked with worry for her brother, is forced to stay at the Rising Stones and wait for word from him. Unfortunately word never arrives.

Thancred eventually contacts them and says that he is on his way back with some news to report. Alisaie and the Warrior of Light travel to meet him in Little Ala Mhigo where he confirms that Zenos is indeed alive. He also reports that he got a brief distress message from Alphinaud but was only able to make out two words: the Burn. A desert wasteland located between Doma and Garlemald, he suspects Alphinaud may be found there. Alisaie jumps on this immediately and declares they will travel there right away in search. They meet with Y'shtola, Hien and Yugiri in Doma as it is the entry point to the Burn. Although not pleased to travel to it Hien feels responsible for Alphinaud, having made him a diplomat of Doma to protect him on his journey into the Empire.

The five travel to the Burn on falcon back and arrive at the scene of a crashed ship, the one that bore Alphinaud away, and many deceased Garlean soldiers. They note that the soldiers were from the royal guard and that only a member of the royal family could have commanded them which further confirms Ascian Zenos's involvement. They also confirm that Alphinaud has long since left the area and have no clues on where he might have gone... or if he is even all right. Alisaie is quiet on their return home and is clearly sick with worry by what they have discovered. Despite gentle encouragement from Hien her concern weighs heavily on her.

Upon returning to Doma they find Lyse waiting for them. She invites Hien to a meeting with the Eorzean Alliance. Ala Mhigo has agreed to join it and they are hoping Doma will too. After a brief interlude in order to make sure Doma is defended in Hien's absence he departs for Little Ala Mhigo. The Scions also attend and together the meeting to discuss what to do about the Empire begins. Thancred proposes a plan to spread rumors in Garlemald that the Zenos who has returned is not as he seems. In doing so he hopes unrest might spread and throw the Empire into a civil war. In this moment pain rips through the Scions's minds and all at once they hear a voice that calls out to them. Only Y'shtola, Thancred, Alisaie and the Warrior of Light suffer this and when it ends Thancred drops to the floor, unconscious.

Kan-E-Senna tells the remaining Scions that his soul has been taken and what they experienced was a phenomenon known as The Calling. Concerned, Y'shtola, Alisaie and the Warrior of Light travel back to the Rising Stones. They discover that Urianger heard it too. Urianger and Y'shtola agree to look further into the matter only for the Calling to happen a second time. Urianger and Y'shtola's souls are lost and they too fall unconscious, oblivious to the desperate pleas of Alisaie.

Shaken but not broken Alisaie takes the Warrior of Light to visit an old friend and there voices her fears that she has no one left. She reaffirms that she doesn't have to carry the burden alone because she has them and finds a new resolve to do whatever it takes to save her fellow Scions.

Updated Personality: Alisaie's personality has not changed too drastically but we do get a bit more elaboration on some key points and a reveal of a new trait. Y'shtola observes that she is dealing poorly with Alphinaud going missing in enemy territory. She acts more subdued and quiet when the search turns up no signs of him. Lyse notes that Alisaie acts headstrong and reckless to make up for feeling weak. She encourages the Warrior of Light to be there for her, also mentioning that she is not handling the weight of worry very well. She takes it upon herself to try and fill Alphinaud's role, however, which speaks to the seriousness she treats his absence. It is a role she shied away from in the past but decides upon meeting with the Eorzean Alliance that she will do what she can to carry on his work. This is a level of responsibility she has never taken on before.

When the other Scions are lost to the Calling Alisaie shows a remarkable strength of determination and a sudden spark of leadership. She steps up to the plate as the last remaining senior Scion and takes the reins. Although she expresses her fears and doubts openly she is quick to pick herself up and declare that she has friends to save. Later she is seen in the Rising Stones mentioning that she will reach out to the outside connections and find whoever she can that can help them. Notable too, however, was her reaction to losing Urianger and Y'shtola in front of her as she is seen in great distress when they fall and then apologizes for losing her cool. This combined with her missing brother places a lot of stress on her and shows that for all her strength she deals poorly with being left alone.
