[ archived ] mailbox

Welcome to the NPC mailbox. Characters are free to send letters to the various NPCs currently in charge of the city. All replies will also be written and sent via messenger bird. Replies may take a while as they are busy officials.

Requests to meet NPCs in person are doable, but there is no guarantee it will happen—at least immediately. Efforts will be made when possible.

Since inquiries are sent via letter, you can write them as long or as short as you wish.

To schedule a thread with an Arehtei, refer to this entry.

To send a letter, fill out the following form and include the message.

Oh yeah I probably should've specified the exact details of what he's looking for in the first place MY BAD. He's looking to see if he can find any evidence that they might not be on the level/proof that they are on the level. So, like, signs of corruption or blackmail or the like, if they're making contact with any suspicious-seeming people or going to suspicious-seeming places, what they're doing to actually carry out their job, any strange/suspicious/inconsistent/etc. behavior, etc. (He'd be breaking into their homes/offices while they're away to dig through their correspondence and paperwork too if he could, but I'm assuming Verens uses more modern locks than the medieval sort he's used to, so that's a skill he needs some time to relearn.)

Is that clear enough?

Well, technological advancement is definitely a thing to consider, the locks Astor would be used to picking would probably be warded locks whereas lever and pin tumbler locks started taking over during the Industrial Revolution, so...? Obviously it's up to you what sort of locks are around in Verens but my gut instinct is that warded locks are still pretty common but things in need of more security (like high-ranking politicians) would have the newer types?

OTHER THAN THAT little bit of "I did some research would you like to hear about my research" nerdery, yes, that is absolutely plenty, thank you! o7
