— CANON UPDATE —

If you'd like to update your character to a different canon point, fill out the form below and comment to this entry. Please note that characters can only be updated to source material that has been out for at least one month. We will try and process canon updates within 48 hours.

ICly, When your character is on a canon update, they completely disappear from the world. It's almost as if they were removed the game, however there's a key difference. Their amulet will remain and be in a translucent state. Characters will be gone from the game from three days to a week. They will reappear wherever their amulet is and can continue their progress from wherever they left off. They will also retain all of their memories.

If you have any questions, contact one of the mods or ask them on the form.

Player: Caprica
Character: Rapunzel
Current Canon Point: Happiness Is
Updated Canon Point: Lost and Found

Updated Background:

Basically, they get off of the islands they were stranded on when a cargo ship turns up finally. They do get into a tangle with a prison barge because Max and Eugene fall overboard and get into a fight with those onboard the barge, but they make it back to land and manage to proceed in their journey to follow the weird rocks.

The next episode 'Cursed' features Rapunzel being cursed by Madam and her monkey psychic, Vigor, supposedly giving her bad luck. She's cursed because the other finds her dropped telescope from her father and refuses to return it, Rapunzel taking it back anyway and thus being cursed. Turns out the placebo effect is a thing when the gang scoff, and Eugene gives her one of Shorty's teeth, saying it would negate the curse, as they cross over some treacherous terrain in their progress of their journey still.

Then Rapunzel teams up with Eugene's ex because of course eventually his past catches up with him and she needs to return something he stole. Which involves the girls teaming up to retrieve it since Stalyn knows where it is. Rapunzel returns it and gets Eugene and the others free in the end.

The Great Tree episode has Rapunzel making progress on the way to the Dark Kingdom and she finds more of the scroll which reveals the Reverse Incantation using the Moonstone's power. This does the opposite of the Healing Incantation with the Sundrop, meaning instead of healing, this one hurts and drains life rather than restoring it. She unintentionally hurts Cass by saying she can handle things herself without Cass's support and help so much anymore, and thus does not listen to Cass's ideas. This backfires when Rapunzel tries to deal with their opponent trying to stop them getting to the Dark Kingdom by using the new incantation, harming Cass's arm when the other touches her in trying to make Rapunzel stop.

In Brother's Hook, Hook Hand gives a concert and the others go to support him, and this leads to Hook Foot making up with his brother and leaving the group to tour with Hook Hand, making music and dancing together.

In the following episode of Day One, Rapunzel gets into a discussion with Cass about what happened in The Great Tree, only for Cass to unintentionally make use of the magic wand they found in wishing that Rapunzel forgot all about it. This leads to Rapunzel reverting back to thinking she was still fresh from the tower and all, still so jumpy and curious about everything, until Cass is able to make the antidote to restore her memories.

The next few episodes featured the group crashing in an inn to get out of a storm, only to find themselves initially trapped. Matthews, the inn keeper, pulls some strange tricks/magic to keep them there, including mirror doubles that try to trick the others into thinking they are the originals and trapping the originals in the mirror, reverting the others aside from Rapunzel and Eugene - that is, Cass, Shorty and Lance, to kids via this magical spinning top toy that reversed their ages, and messing with Rapunzel's dream in making her think she was still getting coronated and she didn't need to deal with all of this if she married Eugene and never left Corona. Only, Rapunzel's present self is able to break through and convince her dream self that they needed to leave the dream.

The next episode has Eugene and Rapunzel going through a maze to find the last piece of the scroll that will lead them to the Dark Kingdom and reveal more secrets about their situation. They find out that -- yes, the monkey Vigor is actually Demanitus, the one who created the maze, and he is lucid long enough to lead them through it. He tells Eugene that one of the party will betray Rapunzel when they reach the Dark Kingdom.

Updated Personality:

Personality wise, Rapunzel is much the same as she ever has been. Still optimistic and still on her journey to learn and see and do everything she can. She has grown a lot more confident though, in herself and her abilities and choices, shown when she tells Cass she doesn't need the other watching out for her so much any more. That she needs to make choices herself if she is to one day be Queen and rule.

She is also comfortable enough to talk about the idea of having kids of their own with Eugene, after Cass and the others are turned younger in the inn. In talking with Eugene about how they would raise their own children if they had their own one day. Which is definitely another step in them talking about having a future together, that commitment to each other.

Rapunzel has, in working with Eugene's ex, managed to more or less put aside lingering jealousy and insecurity there. Instead, more having been wanting to believe in Stalyn and befriend her, rather than remaining enemies and hating her.

Updated Abilities:

Knowledge of the other Incantation and thus her ability to use it to harm others if needing an offensive strategy.
Other:

Questions:

Not sure how much the other incantation might be nerfed or if it is okay in comparison to other characters and their powers? Mostly in that the longer Rapunzel sings it the more powerful it seems to be in sapping life from everything/everyone around her within a certain distance limit, from what we see in the episode The Great Tree, the one time so far that she has used it. Nobody is outright seen to die from her using it then, but they do pass out or come close to it in that episode, so weakened from the incantation/their injuries at the time.

Player: Auste
Character: Charles-Henri Sanson
Current Canon Point: Post-Solomon
Updated Canon Point: Post-CCC Event

Updated Background: WARNING FOR SHINJUKU & CCC SPOILERS

Everyone thought that after defeating "Solomon" in the Grand Temple of Time, Chaldea's ordeals were over. They were wrong. Even after rescuing humanity from certain incineration, some "remnants" still remain of the Demon Gods that were defeated at the Temple of Time, and one such remnant creates a pseudo-singularity within Shinjuku, where Archer of Shinjuku plots to commit the perfect crime - which would, of course, result in the destruction of the world - in a city overrun by criminals and Phantom Spirits. Ritsuka and Mash find themselves in the middle of Shinjuku and a complicated plot that Archer of Shinjuku has woven around them, but against all odds manage to unravel it all, and take him, his posse and the demon god Bael on. Oh yeah, Sherlock Holmes waltzes into Chaldea, nbd.

There's also the Valentine's Day event where all the servants give Ritsuka chocolate - or in the case of the dudes, return gifts. Sanson's return gift is a nutritious hot chocolate drink made from chunks of Valentine's chocolate, and he's honored that Ritsuka likes it, although he's a bit more hesitant about inviting Marie over to eat chocolate with them because of Mozart, oops.

After that, Ritsuka, Mash, Emiya, Tamamo-no-Mae and Nero get caught up in another mystery when they investigate the Seraphix facility, which has become detached from reality and has begun to sink into the earth. There, they encounter the Alter Egos, as well as their hostess, the Mooncancer BB. BB is there to make their quest absolutely horrible, but their quest takes an even more horrible turn when they find out that a weakened Demon God has tried to ally itself with one of the Seraphix staff, a woman named Sessyoin Kiara. Kiara instead used the Demon God for her own desires to become Beast III, a being who lives only for pleasure and who is only defeated through the joint efforts of Ritsuka and co., BB, and the Alter Egos.

Updated Personality: There are no updates to his personality, although the Valentine's event shows his caring yet conscientious side, in how he made an effort to make sure his gift had some nutritional value.

Updated Abilities: No updates.

Character: Princess Allura
Current Canon Point: Season 6, Episode 6
Updated Canon Point: Season 8, Episode 13

Updated Background: Wikipedia episodes list

Updated Personality: When Allura last came to Emp, it was in the middle of blaming herself for falling for Lotor's lies, and it shook her confidence at bit as she kept learning about the lost years. In canon, however, experiencing them herself gives back her conviction that fighting Lotor was the right thing to do, and being able to save Earth, resurrect Shiro, and create a new arm for him strengthened her confidence not just in their cause, but in herself as a paladin and in abilities outside the war. She also begins to heal from the emotional wounds Lotor left her; while never fully forgetting the complex, tragic role he has in her life, she lets herself find new love again in finally returning Lance's feelings, looking to him as a source of solace and strength in the last stretches of the battle. A promised future of a home and family to look forward to after the war when she'd worried where she would go or if the paladins would move on from her.

That said... that resolve is once again a double-edged sword. Coupled with her anger at Honerva for all the damage she's done and taking advantage of the Altean colonists, she becomes dogged in her pursuit of a way to defeat Honerva; combined with her ease to be influenced, this leads her take in a dark entity- one of the main factors that drove Honerva to madness in the first place, and the leash she's been using to control the Altean pilots- insisting that its power and connecting her to Honerva is the best way to stop the witch, even when Honerva uses it on multiple occasions to turn it against the princess and take her out of commission at key moments. And in an unmeasured combination between her own temper and the entity's influence, Allura becomes more ruthless, almost willing to kill Blaytz, her predecessor, in the void of Honerva's mind, and torturing an already-purified figment of Zarkon with the pain he inflicted over ten thousand years.

It's not until the very end of their fight that she actually lets go of her anger and hatred, and sees Honerva as a woman in just as much pain. She convinces Honerva that life is WORTH living, even if it is painful, and that the two of them have a chance to make things right. So when she comes back to Empatheias, she'll be much, MUCH more at peace with herself and others than she had been in years, and while she'll be sad at not being able to share in that future, she'll be content and grateful to be able to have made sure they keep existing, and to spend just a little more time with them here.

Updated Abilities: Surprisingly nothing really NEW for once; mostly strengthening the powers she already has, such as greater practical knowledge of alchemy and magitech engineering, and a stronger bond with her Lion. There were also abilities granted her by the dark entity, but I plan on making that a non-factor during Allura's time here.

Other: Since Allura more or less gave up her physical form at her canon point and because she'll be leaving soon and I don't plan to use it anyway, I'm going to say that this is a new body that does NOT have the rift entity attached to it.

Player: Riddle
Character: Sansa Stark
Current Canon Point: After she watches Ramsay Bolton devoured by his dogs.
Updated Canon Point: After she is crowned Queen of the North.

Updated Background: Being reunited with Jon, Bran and Arya has strengthened Sansa and given her stronger roots to protect Winterfell. No matter where her siblings journey, they will have a home. However Sansa quickly shows that she isn't blinded by love/emotion for even her family. When she doesn't agree with Jon or sees that his plans will fail, she makes other accommodations and uses her resources to see the outcome she desires. She feels comfortable doing so since her desires are for the safety/sanctity of the North.

However, after meeting the much spoken about Daenerys Targaryen, conquering the Night King and hearing about the travestytragedy of King's Landing wherein thousands perished, Sansa truly shows that she has become a fine leader/lady/queen of Winterfell (and thus the North in its entirety south of what is left of the Wall). Since Jon decides to join the Wildlings and Bran is crowned King of the Six Kingdoms, Sansa is left to rule the North alone. She finds the position quite suitable - as do her men. They are extremely loyal to their Queen and I think it is safe to say Sansa has no trouble working with Bran if the need ever arises.

Updated Personality: Sansa has grown into a powerful, wise, cunning ruler who knows how to protect herself and her people. She will not fall for lies or pretty words - she has learned well from Cersei Lannister, Petyr Baelish and all the rest. She refuses to fail in all the ways they did, yet she will continue to carry their lessons close to her heart. Even tragedies can be learning points and Sansa no longer lets herself be bogged down by emotion. She does what she must without hesitation or regret.

I think how she dealt with and reacted to Daenerys in particular was very telling for how much she has grown. First and foremost in her mind are the rights of her people and their freedom. Daenerys might be backed by her Unsullied and Dothraki (not to mention, at the time, two dragons), but Sansa wasn't afraid to make her stand. She has found where she belongs and finally the broken bird has mended and been set free.

Updated Abilities: Other than a bolstered confidence, there is nothing to note.

Character: Shouto Todoroki
Current Canon Point: end of chapter 190
Updated Canon Point: end of chapter 218

Updated Background: Shortly after Todoroki and the rest of his class, and basically the whole country, watch as Endeavor (Todoroki's father, Enji) narrowly defeats High End, both Class A and B meet to do a joint training battle. He's placed in the third group, and will eventually go head to head with Tetsutetsu, from Class B, whose Quirk is turning his body to steel. Todoroki displays two new upgrades to his own Quirk; however, while powerful, the end result of round three is that all eight students were knocked/passed out. After the battle and when recovering, Todoroki expresses regret over how he should have been more quick to act.

Not too much later on, Todoroki (and Bakugou) attends his final remedial course, where he earns his Provisional Hero License(!) On the way back to U.A., he and Bakugou end up saving a number of civilians who are being attacked and stolen from by would-be criminals. The praise he gets afterward from All Might is priceless!

Updated Personality: The most notable would be his attitude towards his father. This ultimately is on the subtle side, as Todoroki will never forgive the way Enji treated his mother and siblings, but he's also willing to give him a chance to work on being present as a father. He also makes first contact when wanting to learn more about a couple of Enji's fire techniques. Todoroki also goes so far as actually saying that Endeavor is an incredible hero. — There isn't much apart from this, although he's more at ease and engaging with his friends and classmates.

Updated Abilities: Todoroki has gained a couple more techniques with his Quirk, "Half Cold, Half Hot." He's displayed creating a wall made of flames, as well as being more detailed with his ice. He's shown to have surpassed his own limits when it comes to raising his body's temperature and his flames (even exceeding Endeavor's). Although this is capable of even melting steel and disrupting electronics, it also will begin to burn his body as a result, as well as make him dizzy and unable to move as efficiently, if he's not careful or endures for too long.

Other: He'll have his shiny new Provisional Hero License card on his person, because It's Important. If possible, he'll be gone from August 11th to the 14th.

Character: Hibiki
Current Canon Point: Chapter 14
Updated Canon Point: Chapter 23

Updated Background: This time period mostly consists of little episodic events that don't really focus on Hibiki herself, so! She heard a story from fellow teacher Ikko about how Ikko got into specializing in curses, had to deal with Shiiraasan using magic crayons that could create whatever was drawn so long as they weren't living creatures, got an invite to the palace where she got to watch Nazuna fend off a bandit in a dress and attend a party in a magical dress herself (until it disappeared because magic), and... deal with a complex spell the entire staff had to work together to cast. In the latter case, one of the other faculty members wasn't able to cast the spell properly, causing it to backfire and explode with debris. Hibiki, seeing Ikko about to be struck with rocks, hurried to push her out of the way - only to be crushed beneath them herself, leaving her in critical condition.

Updated Personality: Not too much, since many of the chapters didn't focus on Hibiki herself developing, but she did want to be a little more courageous thanks to some kind words from Ikko. Unfortunately, acting on that is what gets her wounded so badly, so whoops.

Updated Abilities: N/A

Other: This would be slated to occur between 9/14-9/18! She'd also be arriving with some debris dust/pebbles and, you know, some gnarly injuries thanks to the canon point.

Character: Gundam Tanaka
Current Canon Point: Post-Chapter 4 of Super Dangan Ronpa 2
Updated Canon Point: Post-Hope Arc of Dangan Ronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy

Updated Background:

After being excuted within the virtual world, Gundam's body was left in a comatose state until he was revived by Hajime Hinata, who had the numerous talents of Izuru Kamukura at his disposal. Hinata also restored the damage that was done to Gundam's body during his time as one of the Remnants of Despair, and seems to restore his original lost memories too. (It is actually vague whether or not the characters regain their missing memories, but in Gundam's case, he does remember sealing his name away, so it seems that he does have his missing meories). Gundam then accompanied his classmates in their attack on the Future Foundation's base, in order to thwart the plan of their former classmate, Ryota Mitarai. Gundam took down some sort of bird tamer and then joined the others in talking Mitarai down from broadcasting a video that would brainwash the world into knowing only hope. Gundam and his classmates then helped the Future Foundation to save face by posing as the Remnants of Despair in a video tape in which they claimed responsibility for the killing game that had taken place at the Future Foundation's headquarters. Afterwards, Gundam and everyone else (Hinata, his classmates and Mitarai) departed aboard a ship to live away from society.

Updated Personality:

Gundam's general behavior is still the same. There are just a few changes due to having his lost memories. He bears the weight of having been a Remnant of Despair and seeks to atone for his actions. He also seems to be more accepting of having friends and being part of the group, rather than insisting upon being a loner.

Updated Abilities:

His abilities are still the same. The DR3 anime just has a greater showcase of how much animal whispering Gundam's capable of.

Other:

I am intending to play him with some of his restored memories being murky - specifically from his time as a Remnant of Despair. This is because there's not much in the way of canon specifics about what actions he performed as a Remnant of Despair (like it's claimed that some Remnants of Despair killed their families, but unknown if that applies to Gundam specifically), and I also generally prefer to play him not having the full weight of every atrocity he's committed, though he will still remember having done horrible things in general.

I'm thinking he'll be gone for three days, starting today!

Current Canon Point: Post Season One Finale.
Updated Canon Point: Post Season Two Finale.

Updated Background:
Scrooge makes it clear that despite the awful thing he said in season 1, Webby is indeed a member of the Duck family! In fact, the family expands, with the return of Della Duck! Also -
- Lena's back, alive and well!
- Her worst enemy, Magica De Spell, is mostly powerless now so HA!
- New friend made, Violet Sabrewing!
- Learns the identity of Gizmoduck!
- Aliens are alive and live with us now apparently!

Updated Personality:
While her personality has mostly remained the same, she does feel a touch insecure when measuring herself up to Della. As such, it's made her take more dangerous risks and become a (slightly) better liar than she was before.

Updated Abilities:
She can speak Old Norse. Um, hurray?

Other:
While "currently" in Empath, Webby has been homesick and depressed over uncertain things in home, such as Lena's fate and her place in the Duck family. With this update, she'll feel much better about all of this, and become a happy, confident duckling again!

Character: Ritsuka Fujimaru
Current Canon Point: Post-Solomon
Updated Canon Point: Post-Salem

Updated Background: Following Chaldea's bittersweet victory at the Temple of Time, it was discovered that a few of the Demon God Pillars had escaped and were attempting to establish Psuedo-Singularities in a last-ditch effort to achieve their goals. These were as follows:

Shinjuku

A singularity in a twisted version of 1999 Japan, Ritsuka had to deal with temperamental allies, deception, and even being forced to choose whether to sacrifice a life beyond saving for the sake of the greater good. (She chose to go through with it, incidentally.) Not to mention the betrayal of someone who'd befriended her as an ally, to boot. It was a harsh struggle full of difficult decisions for what was ultimately a singularity doomed to collapse on its own anyway, rendering all that effort and heartache arguably pointless. Still, she chose to press on and overcome, even once again gladly welcoming former enemies into Chaldea after all was said and done.

SE.RA.PH

Once a year, Chaldea makes contact with its sister facility, an oil rig called Seraphix. This time, however, something goes wrong, so naturally Ritsuka and a few Servants proceed to rayshift there to investigate and solve the problem. This promptly turns into a romp through cyberspace and a battle against one of the Beasts that represent the Evils of Humanity. So all and all a pretty typical mission... Except for the whole uncovering a few of the skeletons that Chaldea's founder and original director had in the closet. That was a bit disturbing, and reason enough that once the Beast was defeated to let what little remained of Seraphix cease to exist.

Agartha

A peculiar singularity located deep underground, and populated only by women. Or more specifically, ruled by women, with men relegated to being mere property. Ritsuka and her Servants pretty much fought their way through until finding the mastermind and defeating the Demon God Pillar to end the singularity. Oh, and there was some getting betrayed along the way, because even after the Shinjuku incident Ritsuka's still quick to trust. (No, this didn't change that either.)

Shimousa

Not actually a singularity per se, but something a little different, that Ritsuka became trapped in via a dream. After meeting up with the world-hopping Musashi, the two have to do everything from fighting monsters to helplessly listening while a village is slaughtered to fighting powerful foes on a literal field of bones. Not to mention at one point, an enemy(?) Servant decided to shove a hand into her belly and fiddle around with her guts. Ew. At least Ritsuka and Musashi managed to keep the two children they befriended safe, even if they were confronted with seemingly endless death and slaughter, and were able to defeat the powers behind the not!singularity at the cost of Musashi's life. But, as luck or fate would have it, Musashi would end up summoned to Chaldea as a Servant after, much to Ritsuka's delight.

Salem

Chaldea was getting close to wrapping up its operations, when suddenly the near-future observation lens Sheba goes berserk. As it turns out, a strange phenomenon has engulfed the area of Salem, Massachusetts, and in order to resolve it Ritsuka, Mash, and a select team of Servants are rayshifted in. There, they encounter Salem just as it was at the beginning of the infamous witch trials... Except, not exactly. Abigail Williams is defending Tituba, there's a strange albino girl name Lavinia Whateley, and soon Britain's infamous "Witchfinder General" shows up to take charge of matters. What's even more peculiar, however, is that Ritsuka and the others from Chaldea can't seem to recognize these discrepancies from the correct history, or at least if they do, the knowledge just doesn't stick. Thus, Ritsuka tries to fight a seemingly futile effort to curtail the accusations and executions, not just of people of the village, but even some of her Servants.

Turns out, everyone's just been playing into the hands of the Demon God Pillar running the peculiar singularity, in a ritual intended to summon an evil god from the abyss into the world, using Abigail as its vessel. Thankfully, barely, Ritsuka and the Servants manage to overcome even this, freeing Abby from the evil god's control, after which she chooses to learn how to properly use her newfound powers. With this, the singularity collapses and Ritsuka and the others are rayshifted one last time to return to Chaldea.

In addition to these singularities, as usual there were a number of odd events to spring up inbetween them:

Valentine's Day returns: Once again, the Servants decide to celebrate Valentine's Day... and this time the guys are getting into things too! Ritsuka ends up with far, FAR more chocolate and assorted return gifts than is healthy.

Gudaguda Meiji Restoration: Nobu and Okita are at it again! This time striking up a rivalry during the Meiji era. After the two have gotten that out of their system, they team up along with Ritsuka to put an end to the mini-singularity.

All the Statesmen: A strange adventure in the American frontier with a cute loli Paul Bunyan, and a peculiar and twisted version of Ritsuka acting as the final boss. Honestly, Ritsuka's still not sure this wasn't at least partly some kind of fever dream induced from eating months-old leftover chocolate.

Dead Heat Summer Race/Death Jail Summer Escape: There's a mini singularity and Ishtar has just the way to fix it! A special race between Servants to act as a ritual. Too bad they got caught and thrown into Medb's prison midway through, but luckily Ritsuka could still advise them from afar until they break out. Of course, things can never be easy, and Ritsuka and the others wind up having to fight a partially-manifested Bull of Heaven (it's... just one of its legs, actually) to destroy it and stop Ishtar's real plans. All in all a fun summer adventure with excitement, drama, and Ishtar getting her comeuppance in the end.

Return of Nerofest: The previous Nerofest went over so well, Nero's doing it again! It's literally just a big tournament again. Good way to grind for mats let off steam.

Himeji Castle War: Apparently, dropping a pyramid onto Castle Csetje wasn't enough, now Himeji Castle, home to the reclusive Osakabehime, has been added to the mix! Which naturally means Ritsuka and the party have to climb (fight) their way up and defeat the castle's giant mecha guardian. And Osakabe, who was apparently behind the whole thing. And her army of mecha. At least Mecha Eli-chan comes over to Ritsuka's side to help! And of course all is resolved in the end, minus the fact that the pyramid and Himeji Castle are still there. But did we mention there's mecha??

Updated Personality: Some of the things that come up, such as the need to possibly kill one person to save others, have already come up in Empatheias, so at this point there won't be any huge drastic changes. Mostly Ritsuka will be just a bit more weary emotionally from the things she's seen and done, a little more prone to bouts of self-doubt and negativity. While Chaldea always managed to pull through, after all, it was generally not without cost, and Ritsuka had a rougher time in these psuedo-singularities than she did in the earlier singularities. It won't be enough for an alignment change, but there's definitely a stronger presence of the despair/hope dynamic than there was before.

On the other hand, though, she's being taken from a point where as far as she's aware, Chaldea's mission is finally well and truly finished, the lingering loose ends all tied up. While in some ways it's sad, in others it's definitely a relief, and Ritsuka will be a bit less restless and have less of a pressing need to get back to Chaldea. At least for now.

Updated Abilities: None, really. She's probably learned a bit more about the fundamentals of magecraft, but she still couldn't cast a spell to save her life. And while her physical fitness is commented on in Shimousa, it's implied this isn't exactly new at this point, just a natural consequence of all the walking and hard work the various singularities have required, so no change to speak of there.

Character: Hibiki
Current Canon Point: Chapter 23
Updated Canon Point: End of canon

Updated Background: Hibiki is saved from death by the combined efforts of Ahito and Shirotsuki's healing magic, although the latter unfortunately has the toll of doing quite a number on his remaining memories. Not realizing any of this, Hibiki continues life as normal and helps Misaki to train a ganabira (aka dragon) so it would be strong enough to fly home again, and then attends a festival with her friends. It's around this time when Shirotsuki as a gusk begins to act oddly, even lashing out at people who slight Hibiki, and she finds out with horror that the sacrifice he made for his magic was his memories. Eventually she takes him back to their old home in the forest and realizes someone else has taken up residence nearby; Yui, Shirotsuki's former lover who couldn't give up on her fond memories of the man even though he forgot her repeatedly. Shirotsuki joins the other gusks that live in a large tree by Yui's home, and Hibiki realizes that the time has come for them to part ways. However, she now carries herself with the full confidence of Shirotsuki's apprentice, and no longer fearing what the future may bring, she returns to Kamisaid Academy and begins her studies in earnest.

Updated Personality: SUDDENLY, CONFIDENCE! She's still not the most knowledgeable, but she's much more confident in herself and her ability to face the future. She wants to live up to the honor of being Shirotsuki's apprentice, and has come to terms with standing on her own two feet.

Updated Abilities: She's still a normie

Player: Jax
Character: Usagi Tsukino
Current Canon Point: End of Stars arc but before the epilogue/marrying Mamoru
Updated Canon Point: Technically not a traditional canon update so much as a power update.

Updated Background: So, when Usagi, canonly, turns 22 she becomes full Lunarian according to her canon. She also becomes queen of Earth and the Moon as well as give birth to a daughter but only one of the things will be happening in the game and that’s her becoming full Lunarian and coming into her full powers! And well, looking like a queen even if she hasn’t been coronated back home yet.

Updated Personality: What we know about Neo-Queen Serenity is basically from what everyone else tells us about her and the few glances we see. On the surface of what everyone describes, she’s elegant, well-spoken, graceful, calm, warm, diplomatic, wise, kind, fair, intelligent, ethereal and otherworldly, and always under control in every situation (well, almost every situation). She sounds perfect, like a fairytale queen who took away illness, war, and strife from mankind, ushering in an entire millennium of peace and prosperity.

But this isn’t really the case. Oh, Serenity is everything everyone says she is, but she’s had over a 1000 years to get there and even then, she still makes mistakes. This will not be that Serenity that Usagi turns into at age 22. Usagi will turn into Serenity and work towards becoming the woman everyone claims she is… while doing everything she can not to repeat the mistakes of the future that lay ahead. (She sees you Wiseman, and you can bet you aren’t getting exiled her turn around, you genocidal maniac, also she’s totally not letting Chibiusa feel like a complete loner in her own home). Becoming Serenity DOES give Usagi SOME new personality quirks, though not many, because again, the Serenity we get glimpses of has been at it for a millennium.

Usagi/Serenity will be a little bit calmer and a little more self-assured and confident. She’ll be harder to rile up and is less likely to be casual in her speech and actions, but this is still Usagi BECOMING Serenity so she’ll very likely slip back and forth.

Updated Abilities: HERE’S THE BIG DIFFERENCE. The silver crystals powers are technically ALWAYS at 100% and it’s just Usagi who physically and emotionally matures to be able to handle it. If Usagi as Eternal Sailor Moon was functioning at 85%, then Neo-Queen Serenity is at 95% access to the crystal (with Cosmos being at the full 100%). So, Usagi is already OP-as hell and game-breaky where she’s had several power caps put in place for her in game. But Serenity is…. just so much worse, because Serenity is her MOST powerful form before turning into Cosmos.

So:

A full-time Moon Goddess: So Serenity is just straight up immortal, incapable of dying of illness, old age, and quite possibly incapable of being killed at all because her body is capable of resurrecting itself. But she has gone from being human to just a straight up moon goddess. She gets a nifty crescent moon in the middle of her brow at ALL times, her hair will be permanently silver/white, her skin is as pale as, well, the moon, and she glows at all hours of the day, and no, she can’t seem to turn it off. So have a moon goddess night light.

THE ABILITY TO TURN INTO SAILOR MOON WILL BE GONE. No more Eternal Sailor Moon and the ability to kick ass as a senshi, but that’s because Serenity can do… so much more just as herself. She can still fly with wings, she can still levitate, basically everything she could do as Sailor Moon she still CAN just… now in a long skirt instead of a mini. The only big difference, though is she’s lost the ability to kick your ass physically.

Power Transfer: Whereas before Usagi could send or receive powers so long as someone else had powers. Serenity can give and receive powers to whomever she pleases across the distance of A SOLAR SYSTEM regardless of whether or not they have powers and she can give them however much power she wants. She can grant someone powers and essentially they get to keep it without her having to be there or focusing on them to keep the transfer going. Obviously in-game she won’t be able to send things across the length of the solar system, but if allowed, maybe she can just make a permanent power transfer to someone?

Healing: So, whatever Usagi can do with healing that pushes her to the brink of killing herself, Serenity can do without breaking a sweat. While Usagi CAN heal a planet (with a power transfer from the senshi to help), it would very likely kill her in the process of doing it. But Serenity can basically heal a planet, revive the dead, restore balance to the Force, and all sorts of other miracles without even breaking a sweat or needing the powers of the other senshi to help her do it. Serenity is able to do it all on her own. This power, just like with Usagi will be HEAVILY capped if not outright nerfed depending on the situation. But Usagi/Serenity will no longer be wiped out by her acts of healing.

Defensive/Offensive: So, Serenity is still able to attack and defend, which we know she does against Death Phantom and Prince Demande. The only thing is her powers are more vague/nebulous because she doesn’t announce them the way Sailor Moon does. She just holds out her staff and does it… whatever IT is. The barriers and forces of light she uses are just “MORE” and we don’t really have an example of it otherwise. As previously stated, Serenity does what Sailor Moon does just on a planetary scale rather than an individual one. She still won’t be able to do something on a massive planetary scale here either.

Other: I am perfectly okay with more power nerfing as necessary!

Questions: Since this is more a genetic thing, does Usagi still have to disappear?

Player: Ryoko
Character: Kylo Ren/Ben Solo
Current Canon Point: Post The Last Jedi
Updated Canon Point: Post The Rise of Skywalker

Updated Background: Wookiepedia's got my back so I don't have to write all this.

Updated Personality: Kylo Ren is dead.

Well okay, Ben Solo is too, but he lives on in our hearts or something. And in Empatheias!

Touched by the sacrifice and compassion of those closest to him, Ben has finally cast aside his aspirations to power and control via the dark side. That said, he's still a reckless idiot (tossing his best weapon into the ocean, jumping down a giant hole, fighting a bunch of Force-sensitive dudes with a blaster and his powers alone) who has way too many feelings (he sobs at the memory of his dad, expresses pain in a humorous way, and even smiles, wow!!), but he's more open about these things and his connections to those he cares about. That isn't to say it's going to be an immediate turnaround in personality—there's some hesitation and lingering doubts thanks to his past deeds that are still relevant as long as he's alive somewhere, and it's not like the influence of the dark side or his experiences with it have been completely erased from his personality even if those damned voices are finally gone.

He's fought for what his family believed in and to stop the emperor, and willfully given up his own life in order to make sure the one he loves can move forward. While being a Solo means he's still a troublemaker and a bit of an ass, his grand ambitions are gone and he's stopped denying the truth of what's right and wrong. The pressure of legacy no longer hounds him like it did before; he's abandoned the First Order, and the Resistance and Jedi succeeded in destroying the emperor and his fleet. His part in the story is done, and he's... not at peace, because dying isn't enough to resolve all the crap he's done and that's not how redemption works.

He is resigned to his fate, however, which may externally appear as a generous amount of chill compared to before. He's not done with grief and regret, only having a few short hours to process the death of his mother and what it means to turn back to the light. That, combined with his lack of self preservation, all his attempts to carve off pieces of himself to please those he looked up to, the punishments he allowed himself to suffer the last seven years of his life, and his clear willingness to sacrifice himself without second thought? One martyr complex, coming right up.

Hopefully his friends in Empatheias will help to knock some sense into him before he does anything stupid again.

Updated Abilities: Confirmation of healing ability! He and Rey can pass stuff back and forth and affect each others' surroundings across lightyears, apparently. He also seems to be able to trigger visions by focusing on artifacts, and to have some kind of control over his connection to Rey as far as opening or closing it. Otherwise, nothing new!

Other: ben post-turn has basically no lines except "ow" so body language and healing rey are all i have to work with, i did my best. :(

Questions: Let me know when it's okay to change his name on the taken list to Ben Solo and I'll shoot a comment over there. Thank you!

Character: Armitage Hux
Current Canon Point: End of Last Jedi
Updated Canon Point: After getting shot by Allegiant General Pryde.

Updated Background: Hux's background at the Wiki

Updated Personality:

After the battle of Crait and Ren's ascension to Supreme Leader, Hux loses a lot of his command because of Ren's mistrust of him. However, it does not only stop there. When the Finalizer becomes heavily damaged during a skirmish with the Resistance over Batuu, he and Ren switch ships to the Steadfast, with makes Hux lose what little power he had left, since he's now under orders of Allegiant General Pryde. He basically got demoted and that's a huge blow to him, since Hux's whole thing was to rise to the top of the First Order and become Supreme Leader himself.

With little room to move up the chain anymore, the idea of becoming a spy or at least letting the Resistance grow in power most likely started to form in his mind, because Hux fully loathes Ren's leadership, finding him to be chaotic and mad that doesn't fully represent the First Order's (Mostly Hux's) ideals in establishing 'peace' throughout the galaxy. If he can weaken Ren's hold on the First Order, perhaps there's a chance still. However, when Ren finds Emperor Palpatine to be alive and with a large Sith Fleet in Exegol, Hux finally takes the first step to give important intel to the Resistance.

Because at this point, seeing Palpatine and this Sith Fleet, knowing that the First Order will be overtaken or at the very least absorbed into the this group to be known as the Final Order, that he believes his career has no upward momentum at all. It's one thing if the First Order continued to exist as itself, but with this Sith Fleet and the return of Palpatine, there's no chance for him. He hates anyone that has connections to the Force or believes in it, and every officer and stormtrooper in the new fleet are loyal to Palpatine or at the very least, Sith ideals. They may have the firepower he's always wanted, but he just hates everything that they represent and has no motivation to work with them.

So, he betrays all of them, detailing this new fleet to the Resistance. He even helps Poe, Finn, and Chewbacca to survive their execution after getting caught. Of course, this leads to Hux getting shot and killed by Pyrde, but at that point, Hux didn't seem to care all that much, because his life's work has been overtaken by some boogeyman that appeared almost out of nowhere without warning.

As he said in the movie, he doesn't care if the Resistance wins, he just wants Kylo Ren to lose. Sure, he certainly dislikes Palpatine, but he also considers all of this to be Ren's fault as well. He was the start of his downfall of his career in the First Order and the person that Hux had to deal with for years, so his personal hatred for him is above the others. His hatred for Ren is more than his hatred for the Resistance, so it's less of a change in heart, as he doesn't feel bad for anything that he's done, but he just didn't want to see Ren succeed.

Because of his betrayal and eventual death, Hux will be his usual angry and hateful self in Empatheias. However, there will eventually be grief and a feeling of being lost, when it finally hits him that the First Order was just a stepping stone all along for Palpatine. He doesn't feel regret, really, but just filled with a certain level of despair knowing that everything he's done was essentially just dirty work for Palpatine. The First Order was just a part of his big plan. Along with this, his hatred for the Resistance won't be as pronounced and he might actually hold conversations with others, with his persona being more subdued overall.

Updated Abilities: Being the pettiest man in the galaxy.

Other: I'd like him to be fully healed upon arrival.

Character: Steven Quartz Universe
Current Canon Point: In an early scene from "Change Your Mind"
Updated Canon Point: After "Snow Day" in Steven Universe Future

Updated Background:

After Steven's canon point, he went on to confront the Diamonds. He also managed to save the Crystal Gems and fused with each of them, marking the first time that he fused with Pearl (to form Rainbow 2.0), Garnet (to form Sunstone) and all three of the Crystal Gems at the same time (forming Obsidian). Steven went through a traumatic moment in which his gem was separated from his body, forming a Pink Steven. Steven ultimately reunited with his gem, and he finally managed to sway all of the Diamonds to seeing things his way. He convinced White Diamond that Homeworld had to change. Thus, the Diamonds came to Earth and worked with Steven to restore all of the corrupted gems.

Two years passed. Steven spent a portion of that time with the Diamonds, helping them to dismantle the empire, although he also grew to feel suffocated by their clingy ways. Afterwards, he returned to Earth and planned to enjoy living his "happily ever after" with his friends. This was disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious gem named Spinel, who came with a mysterious Injector that would kill all organic life on Earth. She also attacked Steven and the Crystal Gems with a weapon called the Rejuvenator, which Steven then used on her in turn. That weapon reset Spinel and the Crystal Gems to their original selves and caused them to lose their memories. It had a different effect on Steven of making it hard to use any of his powers. Regardless, Steven worked to try to restore the Crystal Gems' memories, so that they could save the world. He managed to restore Amethyst and Pearl's memories, and in the process he fused with his father to form Steg. He continued to push himself and pursued Spinel in order to get her memories back. In the process, he learned that she was a friend who was abandoned by his mother. He befriended her after she regained her memories and nearly convinced her to deactivate the Injector, but Spinel grew paranoid about Steven's intentions and turned on him again. During their big showdown, Steven remembered that his original ability was the ability to change, and that he had forgotten that in the wake of his 'happily ever after'. Remembering that caused him to regain his powers, and he defended himself against Spinel until she broke down and had an epiphany. With the Injector destroyed, Spinel went off to live with the Diamonds and to learn how to be a better friend. Steven got to work on kissing the patches of ground that were effected by the Injector's poison in order to restore the land.

Over the next few months, Steven opened and ran Little Homeschool, as a way to help Gems adjust to a more human style of living. He was disappointed that Jasper refused to attend and went to confront her. This resulted in the two battling each other and Steven discovering a new power of his, in which he turned pink. Steven came to respect Jasper's decision and hoped to learn more from her, although she refused to continue teaching him. Steven continued to face more trial and error in running Little Homeschool, and he faced some more faces from the past - such as the unbubbled Rose Quartzes, who he came to accept as his sister, and two enemies who fused together to form a new enemy. He also learned more about the past of Pink Diamond's original Pearl, whom he dubbed Volleyball, and he had to face that he could not fix her wounds. He also learned that Pink Diamond had dangerous tantrums that seemed similar to his recent pink outbursts. Most recently, the Crystal Gems tried to get him to lighten up due to how focused on work he had become. Steven managed to accept that it was okay for him to take it easy with him, while also helping the Crystal Gems to accept that he had grown up a lot.

Updated Personality:

Steven has matured in a number of ways. He is still fun-loving, kind and patient with others, while having his share of sarcasm and sass. He has grown to take on more responsibility to an extreme. He feels a need to be needed, and he pushes himself past his limits to help others. Steven has been trying hard to not be like his mom and avoid her flaws, as she ran away from most of her problems. But this has resulted in his flaws becoming the opposite, as he feels the need to fix everyone's problems and feels powerless when there is nothing that he can do. Steven bottles up his own problems in favor of focusing on other people's problems, as he does not know where to even begin when it comes to helping himself. So he buries himself in his work and in being hyper-conscious of the feelings of others. Later episodes also show him to be shocked by the idea of others settling their problems without him even knowing, and that he clings to his friends due to being afraid of change pulling them apart, while he is clueless about how he wants to change for himself. He is also more prone to fits of anger, especially when dealing with more negativity about Rose and other problems that keep popping up over and over again, and this temper is connected to his new 'pink' power.

He has also assumed a more mature outlook in general, as he tries to take on a healthier diet and dismisses some shows as just being kid's stuff.

Updated Abilities:

For the most part, Steven's abilities have remained the same. He's just become more skilled at them. His shield has been shown to be capable of taking on other forms. He also can use his healing spit more easily, and it has shown to even be capable of rejuvenating patches of ground that have been drained of life and allowing plant matter to re-grow.

His biggest new power change has been the 'pink' form that he has discovered. When particularly stressed or angry, Steven will temporarily glow pink. In this form, his strength and speed are greatly enhanced, and his scream is powerful enough to crack surfaces. Considering that there is still some mystery surrounding this power, I intend to only use it sparingly for the time being.

Character: Ritsuka Fujimaru
Current Canon Point: Post-Salem
Updated Canon Point: Post-Anastasia

Updated Background: Following the resolution of Salem, Chaldea was formally sold off, and as it was getting a new director and staff, that meant it would soon be time for Ritsuka to leave. With a pretty hefty paycheck, for all the time she'd already spent there, of course! Before the farewell party could happen, however, the new director arrived with armed guards and placed the whole facility into lockdown, while questioning all the staff individually to try to find out if there was something suspicious going on after all. This in itself, while frustrating and somewhat upsetting, wasn't really so bad... Except that, just before the new year, Chaldea was then attacked by an unknown armed force, along with an unknown and powerful Servant.

Ritsuka, Mash, and a few of the staff managed to escape, thanks to Holmes and Da Vinci's foresight and planning, and they were even, at Ritsuka's insistence, able to rescue the new director! ... Only for Da Vinci to be killed just before reaching safety once more. Ouch. Luckily she had a backup of her memories, but, well, that's something to dwell on later.

They make their escape as an announcement is blared throughout the world, heralding an extraterrestrial invasion that will end this chapter of human history. As a last-ditch effort, the remnants of Chaldea are able to escape into Imaginary Numbers space, where hide out for a few weeks until, with supplies dwindling, they have to take the risk of resurfacing back into the real world.

Their entry point is in the middle of a frigid, endless blizzard somewhere in Russia, but it's not the Russia they know. It's one where a "Great Cold Wave" occurred during the reign of Ivan the Terrible, and the remaining humans of Russia had been transformed into wolfman-like creatures called Yaga in order to survive this harsh new environment, eking out a tenuous existence in the centuries since. What ensues is alliances with rebels and rogue Servants, allying with the human "Crypter", a former member of Chaldea's A Team and Master of the Servant who'd just recently attacked Chaldea, to overthrow the literally monstrous Ivan, followed by the terrible realization that as this isn't a singularity where resolving it just sets the timeline right, and that eliminating this "Lostbelt" will result everything and everyone that's part of it being simply erased from existence.

Then, cue fighting a former ally, nearly being killed only to be saved by an ally turned traitor literally taking a bullet, and generally numbly going through with the motions of ending the lostbelt... and being treated to seeing the vast plain of white that the surface of the world has been transformed into.

At least there's the good news that a distorted signal indicates there's still other survivors somewhere out there?

Events-wise, there was both a Christmas event (requiring venturing into the Underworld to prevent Ereshkigal from doing something stupid), a wine-infused hundred story pagoda climb compliments of a certain oni wanting to chat with a certain oni-in-denial, and still more Valentine's shenanigans (this time featuring the Hanging Gardens of Babylon turned into a massive chocolate-making factory). While entertaining, none of these had any particular impact of note on Ritsuka. It should be noted, however, that the timeline gets a little fuzzy with the second two here, with the implication being that they occurred back before Chaldea was attacked. But then again, we're dealing with a place where a sort of time travel happens on a regular basis, so it's probably best not to think too hard about it...

Updated Personality: HOO BOY so basically, Ritsuka went from being... more or less her usual upbeat self, albeit with a few lurking self-confidence and such issues under the surface, to having pretty much everything she'd known to that point abruptly taken out from under her. Complete with potential feelings of guilt for possibly being indirectly responsible for a comrade's (temporary-ish) death, the general desperation of having to blindly flee with just a tiny fragment of the resources and persons Chaldea previously had to work with, and the horrible, horrible feeling of having to face having to choose to deny the entire existence of countless more or less innocent people just for the chance of restoring the humanity she knows.

Oh, and from the looks of the world outside once the lostbelt collapsed, there's no real guarantee it'll be enough to bring everyone back, even if there is a way to undo whatever happened.

Needless to say, she's going to be upset. Like, we're talking balancing near the edge of despair event horizon upset. She'd been through a lot already, and mostly dealt with it, but already had taken some emotional damage that, well, this just compounds to a great scale. Lots of despair, lots of guilt, lots of feeling utterly useless. While she'll still be capable of mustering up her usual cheerful self (and darn well will try) her mood will tend towards being much more subdued, and people who know her well might catch glimpses of some of the doubts that lurk below the surface from time to time. Though she'll be back to tending to try to keep things to herself and not worry people again, at least at first.

Still, it's not all negative. For one thing, Ritsuka still hasn't given up. Which means that, faced with such a seemingly hopeless situation, she's clinging to the hope that Chaldea will find a way somehow or another even stronger than ever. Plus, her time spent thus far in Empatheias won't be rendered null and void, either, and after the initial confusion of sorting out all these new memories, she'll be more determined than ever to make the most of and enjoy her time here, as well.

But it's still going to be a pretty big change even so. Enough that it will cause an alignment shift to Peromei.

Updated Abilities: None. Why do you think she feels so useless?

Other: If possible, I'd like her to come back with her new mystic code. Its spells are basically like an upgraded version of her existing old Chaldea uniform! Plus the added bonus of providing extra protection against extreme cold temperatures.

Questions: None I can think of right now!

Character: Billy the Kid
Current Canon Point: Post-America Chapter
Updated Canon Point: Post-Lostbelt One and current in-game events

Updated Background:

By this point in time Chaldea has all but finished its task and was readying itself to shut down With nearly all servants now unsummoned and the only remaining two left being Da Vinci and Holmes, when a sudden and surprise attack destroyed the facility and forced the main protagonists to escape. Alas, during their escape Da Vinci was killed…only to show up not long after. This time as a plucky loli (I’m gonna miss those huge…tracks of land). As the world falls apart, they eventually find themselves in a separate timeline and dimension.

Billy is one of the servants summoned to the Lostbelt through “the cries of the land” alongside Beowulf. The duo wandered around without much direction or purpose until they had reached a village that they then decided to protect until the series protagonist arrived. Shortly after meeting the two decide to align themselves with the protagonist and set off alongside them. Along the way they come across Atalante and a rebel group. Eventually the group discover that it is not actually a singularity, but something that needs to be destroyed and erased for the world to be fixed.

The whole rest of it saw the motley crew fighting against the weather, demonic beasts, Ivan the Mutated Mammoth…I mean the Terrible, Anastasia and a guy who looks like he either wears too much eyeliner or needs to catch some Z’s. Sometime before the climatic battle Billy was given an upgrade by Loli Vinci and soon had to face an entire army by himself as the others go on to deal with Ivan.

Towards the end Billy meets with the group once more, only to discover, gasp! Nyanlterlanta is actually…a traitor! Bummmm! She gets shot. Then Ananastasia enters the frey! She gets shot as well after saving Kadoc from getting shot (he was pistol whipped instead). And a giant Not!Demon pillar that was acting as an anchor to the world is destroyed! With its destruction the Lostbelt would slowly crumble, leaving the protagonists to leave and the servants to vanish.

Events saw the crew delving into the underworld during Christmas with Santa to help out Eresh Ojou-Sama. Then later saw a climb up a pagoda while drunk in order to fight a chuuni-oni and ASMR oni. Afterwards Valentines involved a giant, floating island that was totally not a Death Star commanded by a poison-crazy tsundere and chocolates.

Updated Personality:

There are no real updates to really speak of here personality wise. Though Billy is perhaps a bit more open now to showing his colors as an outlaw. More prone to using violence when needed and not afraid to nip a bud before it blooms so to speak. Along with a general flirty nature when someone interests him, such as Musashi. As well as an overall dislike for traitors.

It also showed a general willingness to face overwhelming odds that are more than stacked against him when he either needs to or there’s no other way. It also showed an innate knack for getting into, and subsequently getting out of trouble.

Updated Abilities:

He’s had his Saint Graph updated by Da Vinci. Basically, he’s faster, tougher and stronger than before and has an updated gun.

Other:

I’m gonna make you famous.

Questions:

Can Billy have his new gun and be called Vash the Stampede?
